All canes are in 2.9 metre (9.5ft) lengths and are sized from the base and taper. For bulk orders over 15 pieces, please call for a separate quotation. Standard delivery charges to mainland UK.


Shuro-Nawa (Japanese black twine)

Shuro-Nawa "Japanese palm fibre twine" (Black), our range of genuine Japanese "Shuro-Nawa" traditionally spun in Japan from palm fibres and dyed black, used for tying bamboo poles and making bamboo fences.
Available in 3mm one or two-ply, the 6mm single ply is used for tying large bamboo poles.

SINGLE PLY OR TWO PLY ?

The 3mm Shuro-Nawa is the size normally used in most fence construction in Japan and is frequently used doubled up.
Our rolls of 2 ply are wound double with two leaders, to save time having to double up the twine.

Shuro-Nawa should be soaked in water for 15 minutes before use, this makes it easier to use the twine also tightens up when it dries out.
